Queries
We have created a central contact email address for any queries BridgendCRL@gmail.com please direct any queries to this email address.
Prize categories
We have decided to have ‘5 year’ age bracket categories for this season, it was 10 years previously. Your age category is set by the age you are on the 1st of April. This will give more prize categories.
Registration
We are going to trial a new registration this year. We’ve had a few issues in the past where members get their date of birth wrong or change how they enter their name between events – Chris becomes Christopher, Sue becomes Susan, Andy becomes Andrew, etc. This then screws up some of the results. Therefore for this season we are asking that everyone pre-registers using the following form. Once you register you will get an email back allocating you with a unique code which you can then use to enter each event. The code will be relatively simple. The code will start:
BH – Brackla Harriers
BA – Bridgend Athletics
CS – Cornelly Striders
OP – Ogmore Phoenix
PP – Pencoed Panthers
PR – Porthcawl Runners
The next to characters will be the first letter of your first name and first letter of your surname, so for example David Jones = DJ.
Then you’ll have 2 numbers just in case there is more than one person in the club with the same initials.
So for example if David Jones were a Pencoed Panther, he’d be PPDJ01. If the Panthers also had Dayna Jenkins they’d be PPDJ02.
We hope this is easier than trying to remember a random unique number and should resolve some issues.
Link is https://goo.gl/forms/7Zo4DJK9KFFZNERy2
Please register now even if you’re not running the first event or even if you are likely to only run at 1 event.
When you pre-register you’ll be asked for emergency contact details and your welsh athletics registration number so please have these ready.
The form should take you no more than 2 minutes to complete.
We’ll email the unique codes the week commencing 22nd April.
Welsh Athletics registration
It is expected that all those partaking in events are registered with Welsh Athletics. When you initially register we will check you WA registration number to ensure it’s valid so please enter it correctly.
If you have a new member who’s going to attend a race that’s not a problem for ONE event only and we expect them to be registered by the following event.
The pre-registration form will be live thoughout the season to allow new members to join.
Not running but want to volunteer?
Please can you pre-register even if you’re not going to partake in an event but would like to volunteer at one or more of the races. Without volunteers the events cannot take place.
If you cannot run due to injury or if you’re saving yourself for another event you will be able to volunteer to marshal / assist at any event even if it’s not your club event. You’ll go to the same registration page as if you are running but have the option to choose volunteer rather than run.
Entering events
2 weeks prior to each event we’ll publish a link to enter that event. All you need to is enter your unique code and agree to the terms. Payment will be on the night of the event. Registration will close 72 hours prior to the event.
Number swapping / on the night entries
BOTH are a no. There should be no reason to need someone else’s number as we only take payment on the night of the race. The entries window will be open for 11 days so you’ll have no need to turn up on the night having not registered. If anyone does try and run with someone else number your result will be voided..
Revision to final results
After notification from some of the Striders, it has been confirmed that there was an error in the formula for the mens age grading. This has meant not change to the overall winners, but some changes to the Male 2nd and 3rd places. I can only apologise for this error. If you identify any further issues, please do let me know directly.
So after revision, congratulations to…..
